Attendance
Our goal is to have at least 95% attendance rate each month. We acknowledge that between illness, medical appointments, funerals, etc. having perfect attendance is not always realistic, however did you know that attendance is one of the biggest determining factors for if you child will graduate on time. Just missing 1 day per month equals 2 weeks per year and if that continues from Kinder through 12th grade it equals 3/4 of a school year. Missing 1 day per week equals 2.5 years over that same time span. It is amazing how much absences add up over time. It is our job as an elementary school to get students and families in good habits so by the time the students are in high school they will make good choices on their own.
Tips for good attendance:
- Make appointments before or after school and bring the student to school for a partial day if possible.
- Create a bed time routine and stick to it so the mornings are less hectic
- Get a good nights sleep and wash hands often to minimize getting sick
- Plan vacations and trips on weekends/holidays. If a trip is required during a school day bring the student to school in the morning and request an early dismissal. If the student will be absent for 3-14 school days request an independent study. Must have 5 days notice.
